Caring for Vulnerable Children in Nigeria

Contributing to the All-Around Development of the Next Generation

Our Vision

To provide a physical and spiritual family as well as full educational support for children living with or orphaned by HIV/AIDS and vulnerable children in the society.

What We Do

  • Educate

We run a free school for orphans and vulnerable children.

  • Advocate

We advocate for the fundamental rights of children.

  • Research

We research ways of developing our children with the minimal source of effort within best practice standards.

  • Mentor

We are peer educators who are raising a new generation of children, not necessarily orphans, and vulnerable children who would live life free of corrupt tendencies and contribute to the development of society.

  • 02

    Support

We raise awareness on issues of HIV/AIDS as well as give holistic care and support to children using psycho-social methods to bring up the children.

  • Outreach

We do free medical outreaches with our medical care and support partners coming alongside to support our drive to care for orphans, vulnerable children and street children. We have done malaria treatment for over five thousand children.

Words From Our Students

I came to CLAPAI when I was 12, and today I finish my diploma in nursing. What I want to do next is to support the CLAPAI project every month.

I’m in CLAPAI. I have HIV/AIDS, and anybody has this type of sickness, bring that child to this family because they are very lovely and caring for us. Bring them so they can have their home of peace in this place.

I came to CLAPAI when I was 13 years. I’m still with them, and I want you to help CLAPAI with food and sickle cell research. CLAPAI has helped me very well. I will believe God will help you to help us, too. Thank you so, so much. God bless you.

I came to CLAPAI when I was 13 years old. I just finished my initial diploma in accounting. Now I want to to support CLAPAI.

About CLAPAI

CLAPAI orphanage is a non-governmental organization which was started in 2006 as an intervention tool, to care for initially, children orphaned by/or infected by HIV/AIDS. However, with the codification of the Child Rights Act, our scope was altered to accommodate the legal changes in the laws of the land, to just cater for orphans and vulnerable children regardless of their circumstances. Today, CLAPAI runs an orphan's living and learning center.
