About CLAPAI

Child Love and Protection Advocacy Initiative (CLAPAI) orphanage is a non-governmental organization which was started in 2006 by Kyenpiya Jessica Nyabam and Emmanuel Ajigasokoa Nyabam as an intervention tool, to care for initially, children orphaned by/or infected by HIV/AIDS. However, with the codification of the Child Rights Act, our scope was altered to accommodate the legal changes in the laws of the land, to just cater for orphans and vulnerable children regardless of their circumstances. Today, CLAPAI runs an orphan's living and learning center.
We have adopted the accelerated Christian Education system with a mix of the Nigerian curriculum as the ACE method allows us to teach children to read faster and better than our curriculum guarantees. Again we find that many children come from diverse situations, thus the need to learn at their individual pace. Our first set of children wrote JSCE exams in July 2013. We graduated our first set who mostly passed the SSCE exams in 2016 and have now graduated four sets so far.
